The 1A is open to Cyclists again without vehicle traffic all the way to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.johnstoncanyon.com\/?utm_source=BanffNationalPark&amp;utm_medium=advertiser&amp;utm_campaign=bnp&amp;utm_term=banff\">Johnstons Canyon Resort<\/a>.  The best place to start is at The Fenlands Banff Recreation area where you can park your car and get on your way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Banff to Johnston Canyon Cycling on 1A\" width=\"1170\" height=\"658\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/y4N3jUVIV1o?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s a 24 km or 15-mile ride one way to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.johnstoncanyon.com\/?utm_source=BanffNationalPark&amp;utm_medium=advertiser&amp;utm_campaign=bnp&amp;utm_term=banff\">Johnston Canyon Resort<\/a>.  There are a few small hills but you don&#8217;t have to think your in a race so go at a relaxed pace and feel the wind blowing through your hair. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is a shorter route starting at Castle Junction only 6.4 km or 4 miles which is flat and may be easier for families with little kids that are trying out cycling. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Enjoy the ride!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>A few things to remember before riding<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Bring water either in bottles on your bike or a water bladder in your backpack. There is no water source while on the road. <\/li><li>Check your bike and make sure it&#8217;s working, chain lubed, brakes and all bolts tightened. Bring your spare tube, pump, and tools with you.<\/li><li>Make sure you have a helmet.
